The Departament deals with preparing the sale strategies of coking coal and stem coal and initiaes the best possible forms of cooperation with the producers of coal and coke, also by means of long term contracts and mutually beneficial terms of cooperation.
The main task of the Departament is to supply the national coking plants with coking coal to produce coke for export.
The main recipients of coking coal include the koksownia Przyjaźń Sp. z o.o. and Zdzieszowice - together 97% of all deliveries. The remaining coal is supplied to other domestic coking plants.

Due to high quality requirements of our foreign recipients of coke, the coal we use for production is the coking coal type 35.1 and 35.2B. Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa S.A. is the main supplier of coal as they produce this type of coal and POLSKI KOKS S.A. buys about 92% of all the coking coal from them. The remaining amounts of coal are purchased from Kompania Weglowa S.A. and KWK Budryk S.A.
