ArcelorMittal Poland [previously Mittal Steel Poland] is the largest steel producer in Poland, employing above 10 500 people (as of January 2008). The company produces a wide range of long, flat, and special products. Thanks to the undertaken investments, which cost, in the years 2004-2007, was 3 billion PLN, ArcelorMittal Poland is today one of the most modern steel producers in Europe. It supplies not only long products, well known for so many years, such as rails or sections, but above all the most modern long products used in the automotive, appliance and construction industries.
ArcelorMittal Poland concentrates about 70% of the Polish steel industry's production capacity. The company groups four steel plants located in Cracow, D±browa Górnicza, Sosnowiec and ¦więtochłowice.
Steel production capacities reach 8 million tons of crude steel and about 6.5 million tons of rolled products per year. The company is one of the largest Polish exporters.
ArcelorMittal Poland is also one of the largest producers of coke in Europe and in the entire ArcelorMittal group. The production capacity of two coking plants: ZK "Zdzieszowice" and a coking plant located by the Cracow plant are about 6 million tons per year.
